Fred Summers

CEO
Point Forward Consulting has been in business since 2016 and was formed in Selma, AL. Founded by Fredrick Summers, who has been coaching basketball since 1997 at the high school, junior college & college level. Summers is a graduate of Lane College (HBCU) in Jackson, TN. His tenure has spanned several Historically Black Colleges and Universities with his last stop as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, FL. 
Therefore, throughout the course of his twenty-five-year coaching career, Summers has participated, worked or attended several national championships and that experience will be instrumental in the success of the inaugural National Minority Basketball Championships, including Y.E.S. US Virgin Islands Classic (2021-present), Edward Waters University Preseason HBCU Tip-Off Classic (2019), Building Blocks Holiday Classic (2021-2022), Concordia College Alabama HBCU Tip-Off Classic (2013-2016).  Point Forward Sports is looking forward to showcasing the best that HBCU basketball has to offer.

A.D. Drew

Event Director
A.D. Drew is a graduate of Florida A&M University and Tuskegee University.  Drew spent a bulk of his time working at his alma matter, Tuskegee, in various roles, including as an assistant Men's basketball coach.  Drew also has stops coaching high school athletics. Drew has been the coordinator of YSE Belgium American Basketball Tour and state director for Alabama for USSSA, USBA, and Teammate basketball organizations. He has also worked as a sports information consultant for various HBCUs, and has worked special assignments for the MEAC/SWAC Challenge and the Celebration Bowl.  Drew currently covers the SIAC for D2Football.com while serving on the Executive Boards for the Black College World Series and HBCU Pro-Sports Media Association.
